Before I created this template, this is how I mind-dumped! It’s a great alternative if creating individual tasks in a database is not your forte.
Start with a Blank Page
I start with a blank page and begin by relentlessly typing out everything that’s on my mind, with no real care for organization. Once I’ve exhausted every thought in my brain, I take a moment to organize and categorize everything listed. Then, I review my list and add sub-tasks that are required to accomplish each task.
Separate Tasks into Categories or Lists
After I visualize everything that’s on my plate, I determine what must be accomplished today vs. what can be deprioritized. Next, I separate tasks into to-do lists that will be accomplished during the coming week. In this process, I often separate sub-tasks across multiple days (depending on the size of the task or project).
Set Realistic Goals
Once I have my to-do lists laid out, I feel a huge sense of relief. Now, the final thing I do is double-check my lists and ensure each list can be reasonably accomplished in one day. If the goals are unrealistic, I reassess and redistribute.
